Yerba Buena/Moscone station is an underground Muni Metro light rail station located at 4th Street and Folsom Street in the South of Market district of San Francisco, California. It is named for the adjacent Yerba Buena Gardens and Moscone Convention Center. The station on the new Central Subway line is intended as a celebration of transportation as civic art. GlasPro was selected by Global Architectural Systems to fabricate glass for walls, floors, ceilings, and elevator surrounds.
“Designed to withstand the impact of thousands of passengers, materials like concrete, stone, glass, and a metal skin help keep this public asset looking fresh and easily maintainable. Yerba Buena links urban design and transportation featuring daylighting from street to ticket level, including the glass elevators. The platform is lit by a full luminous ceiling bringing illumination to the underground space,” MWA Architects, San Francisco.
