Rich in natural history and beauty, Shawnee State Park Lodge and Conference Center is surrounded by 63,000 acres of Shawnee State Forest and Shawnee State Park. In 2021 when the Lodge & Conference Center was renovated architects specified bird-friendly glazing to protect the Park’s birds from collisions with windows.
Buckeye Glass & Associates selected GlasPro to fabricate 1,800 square feet of GlasPro Bird Safe Ultraviolet Reflective (UV) with SGP and Guardian SNX 62/27 to help solve the problem. The UV interlayer is designed to be visible to birds without obstructing human views. The Lodge, with its newly installed Bird Safe UV glass, is the first of many Ohio state park projects specifying bird-friendly glazing solutions.
